Bat2Share

The bat2share project aims at the development of charging infrastructure for sustainable zero-emission e-mobility in Austria. In the project we develop both hardware and software needed for e-bike battery sharing.

bat2share is supported by the Austrian Climate and Energy Fund and implemented by Silicon Austria Labs together with two Austrian SMEs, Erfideo from Graz and GP Motion from Villach.


Digineuron

The project "Digineuron" has been dedicated to improving the performance of embedded systems for AI algorithms by orders of magnitude within a limited energy budget. The result - a hardware accelerator for AI in 65nm technology - sets an international benchmark in low power consumption and performance efficiency.


Cooperative research with SAL

The unique SAL cooperation model is characterized by the rapid implementation of innovative ideas and offers partners access to infrastructure and know-how along the entire value chain of electronic based systems.

With this model, we enable our partners to implement their research idea not only quickly and unbureaucratically, but we also finance 50% of the project costs. The industry partner contributes 25% in cash and 25% in in-kind services.

The IP rules for all our projects are in accordance with the European state aid law and every cooperation project is publicly and anonymously advertised for four weeks to enable other suited partners to take part.

Slot-die coating at SAL

With slot-die coating, we can print at very high speeds over very long areas. It can be used for e.g. lighting such as organic LEDs or also solar cells in which you need to print large areas in a cost-effective manner. Our colleague Daniel explains the process in the video.


Screen printing at SAL

With the screen printer, we can print complex designs. There is a wide variety of inks that can be used because the viscosity range of inks that are compatible with screen printing are much larger than any competing technology. Our colleague Sherjeel exlplains the process in the video.


Pad printing at SAL

With the pad printer, we can print on curved surfaces, such as plants, devices etc. Our researcher Mani explains the process in the video.


Laser patterning at SAL

Our laser scribing platform is equipped with 75 watt CO2 laser. We use it to fabricate laser induced graphene on various carbon-based substrates. Our researcher Lukas explains the process in the video.


Inkjet Printing at SAL

Inkjet printing is an additive digital manufacturing technology and can be used for the fabrication of smart sensors. Inkjet printing is a non-contact method, which means it can be used for sensitive substrates as the substate is not touched by the printhead. Our researcher Johanna explains the process in the video.
