A PILOT LINE FOR ADVANCED MAGNETIC THIN FILM-BASED TECHNOLOGIES

The Mag-TF initiative aims at establishing a pilot line for the development, fabrication and characterization of advanced magnetic thin films for spintronic and MEMS applications.

Project Objectives

Acquiring tools specialized in magnetic thin film deposition and wafer-level magnetic device characterization on substrates up to 200-mm and 300-mm
Supporting and accelerating the transition of the Austrian as well as the European spintronics and MEMS ecosystems towards higher TRLs
Creating a first-of-its-kind infrastructure in Austria and one of the few facilities in Europe capable of fabricating and characterizing high-quality magnetic thin films on industrially relevant wafer substrates
